A life in art is always a work in progress. Such a life is too often delayed by the
perceived necessities of "earning a living" and "raising a family." When one returns to that art which
once demanded too much, it is with a different perspective and a different set of objectives. Always, there
is the demand to "get on with it" as you know that you no longer have so much time.
Those, like myself, who tend to conceptualize everything, sometimes have a difficult time just getting on with it.
On the other hand, Rumiko has always had the focus to continue to work. There was too long a time when she did little but be the mother of our daughters, but I do not think that she resents the time.
