Well, opened the kiln this AM and found my mistake. Firing was exactly where I wanted to be, however...
I had glazed some ware with my own version of "the mystery glaze." These were dried leftovers from various glaze tests and unused leftovers from earlier work. Some how I had included what I though was glaze from the A Corner area of a Cone 8 Barium 8 test. I must have gotten the C Corner instead though the container was marked "A". In any case, it ran all over the shelves. Saved some work by having it up off the shelves. on little pieces of previously fired clay dusted with alumina hydrate.
Actually, the bottoms had rings of very dark brown glass with yellow / gold flakes. Oh well. I need to mark things better, use them up faster or just throw them out.
Clean off the shelves tomorrow AM, the work was glazed yesterday and waiting. Back to my reliable redart woodash base. but another experiments with additions of dolomite.
Bad idea to use this for a log. Too much work to maintain. Still I need to do it on a computer, so it is now a spreadsheet.
