On my most recent trip to Japan, I visited a potter in Ishikawa-ken living near Kanazawa. After visiting his studio, examining his kilns (both anagama and noborigama) my contact person took me to a nearby restaurant that served typical Ishikawa-ken food on his dishes. His work showed a desire to create in the manner of ancient Echizen wares. Not only do I remember the visit, I still remember some of the food.
